A Letter From Daddy

My Dear Charles:
I have waited so long and have prepared myself in hopes that I might be a parent and raise children with love. I have so many things that I hope for you as your father. First and foremost I want you to be happy and feel loved. I have learned that both come through living the gospel of Jesus Christ. You have brought so much joy to my life just in the two months you have been here on the earth with us as your parents. We are happy you chose us to be your parents and desire to live up to the trust that you and God have given to us.
I want you to know that you are a very special son of our Heavenly Father. I can feel the gentleness and goodness within you. You have made me very happy and proud to be your father. Your contagious smile just makes me want to burst with laughter. I can hear you at this moment just about to cry but not quite. It is so adorable to hear your sweet voice. I want you to know that I will always try to be there for you in every way. I will be there when you are sad. I will be there when you are happy. I will be there for your successes and your failures, your triumphs and defeats. I will try to understand you and give you the emotional air we all so desire and need in order to succeed in this life. Basically your mother and I hope to create a little piece of Heaven here on Earth for you.
Some of the fundamental things that I hope for you through your life is to prepare to be a good husband and father; a patriarch to your family. I hope that you will value education and seek learning throughout your life. I hope for you to be anxiously engaged in the gospel and have a disposition and desire to help and bless others. I hope you will have a desire to serve a mission and preach the gospel where ever you might be called to serve. I hope for you to find a lovely companion to call your sweetheart and marry in the Temple. Lastly I hope that you will be able to say that your father has blessed your life and that you cherish the relationship you have with him. I love you so dearly and it will be my life long goal to serve you and demonstrate that love in a manner that would be pleasing to my Heavenly Father. I truly cherish being your father.
With Love, Daddy
